Absctract This project focus on designing a competitive powertrain package to be sold in the formula student market. It has gone through marketing research, design, and manufacturing stages.
In this report, marketing research of our target customers and existing powertrain systems in present market was studied at the beginning. This allowed us to realize and analyze initiatives and potentials of our products entering into the mainland market. Two marketing strategies SET and SWOT analysis were presented. After identifying the place of developing direction, admire to accommodate their needs, and then design based on the required specification. With the acquaintance of powertrain system, deliberations on some possible concerns, design concerns, and safety concerns. The design result ought to be workable with the evidence of simulations, functional tests and experiment. Because of all the evidence, the final design was confirmed and demonstrated by rapid prototyping of 3D printing model.
In conclusion, throughout the project, particle experience and out of syllabus knowledge built up from market research, project management, design, manufacture, simulation to cost analysis. This year, 17-18 formula racing team will use this powertrain system on the real car in FSAE competition. The result will be validated testing after manufacturing process on June, 18. The result will pass to 18-19 team for further improvement and continue to maximize the powertrain package performance to raise the package product competitiveness.
