In this study, two registered social workers from different youth center who have at least one-year experiences of using esport as an intervention approach were interviewed. Both of the interviewees reported that the esport program can contribute to enhancing adolescents’ interpersonal competence such as communication skills, leadership skills or the sense of empathy. Also, it is found the role of the worker in the group can be different. The barriers to using this approach have been found, including the social stigma, difficulties on promotion and the issue of licensing of esport tutor. This study can provide a possible framework for using epsort as an intervention approach to social workers who are interested. |
