Absctract The relationship of the indoor environment quality (IEQ) and the sleep quality in Hong Kong residential building is going to be discussed. The acceptance of occupant in four parameters will be investigated under the sleeping condition: thermal comfort, indoor air quality, background noise level, and illumination level. Besides, the interview of occupants is self-report with their sleep quality and acceptance with environment. Total 30 occupants evaluate in 15 bedrooms. Overall IEQ acceptance predict sleep quality from result change due to change of environment conditions. Also, this study examined the comfortable sleeping environment condition. The result of this research find that background noise level has strong correlation with sleep efficiency and sleep latency. In addition, occupants prefer cooler sleeping environment with relatively higher clothing value. However, IAQ and visual comfort are less effect of IEQ and sleep quality acceptance since these are controllable before sleeping.
