Request for Giving a Self-Guided Group Tour
(for use by PolyU staff only)
Library Guidelines
- This form is for PolyU staff/departments to submit a request for giving a library tour to a group of external visitors.
- The tour should be for academic and research purposes, or for supporting University functions.
- The requester is responsible to lead the tour. He/she will accompany the visitors during the entire tour, and ensure that the visitors leave the Library after the tour.
- To request a tour conducted by Library staff, please apply online: https://www.lib.polyu.edu.hk/e-forms/service-request/library-tour/create.
- Self-guided tours should be conducted between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Mon-Sat. Tours outside this time period will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Please submit your request at least 3 working days and up to 14 working days in advance (excluding Sundays and public holidays) BEFORE the proposed visit date.
- The Library will review your application and inform you the result of your application as soon as possible. You may be asked to provide a name list of visitors and other supporting documents.
- To minimize disturbance to library users, group visits normally would not be scheduled during Revision and Examination periods.
- The number of visitors should normally be no more than 25. If there are more than 25 visitors, they should be split into smaller groups. The requester should arrange for tour guide(s) for each group.
- The duration of the tour is limited to 45 minutes.
- Visitors should be at upper secondary level or above.
- Please remind visitors to keep quiet, mute their phones, and not to film or take close-up pictures of library users or staff.
- The requester is responsible to arrange for campus access (e.g. QR codes) for the visitors.
- The Library’s primary mission is to support PolyU current students and staff in their learning, teaching and research. The Library reserves the right to turn down any tour application, or terminate the tour if it may cause serious disturbance to library users.
